Senior Manager, Procurement - Biologics Category
Location: Titusville, New Jersey; Cork, Ireland; Zug, Switzerland (Hybrid position).
Our procurement team is looking for a Senior Manager in the Biologics Category to lead the global procurement of biologics direct materials used in large molecule drug substance manufacturing across our network.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Lead the SRM process with critical suppliers at senior executive level, focusing on performance management, reliability improvement, and value creation.
Sourcing: Execute category strategies with key stakeholders to reduce total costs of externally purchased materials and improve quality, service, and value.
Contracting: Manage complex contracts, ensuring approval, administration and compliance to maximize financial and operational performance while minimizing risk.
Category Strategy: Develop and implement the vision, strategy, and implementation plan in collaboration with internal partners to deliver maximum value.
Business Engagement: Manage business expectations, drive satisfaction, and ensure alignment with procurement standards. Lead or participate in cross‑functional teams for reliability improvement.
Procurement Strategy & Enablement: Define strategic direction, align with goals and standards, and manage the enabling tools and technology required.
R&D Engagement: Identify needs of our NPI pipeline to ensure material resilience and deploy governance for execution.
Qualifications
Education
Minimum of a Bachelor’s/University degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, PMP or equivalent are helpful.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
Experience in procurement and/or supply chain (strategic procurement, sourcing, category, supplier management).
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong business and financial acumen to develop business cases and deliver value.
Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changing external environment while ensuring effective transition.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Proficiency in supplier performance, supply market analysis, cost modeling, category management, procurement strategy, or procurement excellence.
Ability to think creatively and develop innovative procurement solutions.
Knowledge of complex biologics (resins or media) and large molecule drug substance manufacturing.
Experience in a complex, global environment and in end‑to‑end supply chain initiatives, digital tools, and resilience.
Experience leading or managing people (direct or indirect reports).
Strong credibility with internal customers and suppliers.
Other
May require up to 15% domestic and/or international travel.
Requires on‑site presence at least three days a week, with up to two remote workdays per week.
