About The Role
To ensure the site exceeds its required Customer Service level, the Technician will react rapidly, apply standard fault-finding and rectification approaches to minimize MTTR, ensure proper maintenance and availability of production equipment to meet Site Goals, generate innovative engineering solutions to reduce performance variation, deliver effective maintenance and minor capital projects, and drive improvements in continuous improvement, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Follow engineering safe practices such as LOTO, PTW, step-back risk assessments, and pauses.
2. Diagnose and rectify root causes of faults promptly using available evidence, documentation, tools, and techniques.
3. Perform corrective and planned maintenance tasks, ensuring proper closure of work orders, including safety and quality-critical tasks.
4. Initiate and assist with Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and Breakdown Analyses (BDAs), and complete resulting actions.
5. React to and reduce short stops and breakdowns, communicate issues effectively, and use escalation processes appropriately.
6. Ensure compliant and effective use of parts in engineering stores.
7. Contribute to accountability processes, updating line boards with engineering, quality, safety, and maintenance issues.
8. Assist and deliver improvement projects to reduce breakdowns and short stops.
9. Develop best practices and engineering documentation for maintenance tasks.
10. Ensure compliance with site SOPs and MyLearning.
11. Attend and complete compliance training such as GMP, SOPs, as per individual learning plans.
12. Adhere to GMP, Quality, Health and Safety processes in all role aspects.
13. Work individually and as part of a team to minimize MTTR, focusing on prioritized breakdowns and issues.
14. Review, update, or highlight engineering documents, fault-finding guides, and maintenance instructions.
15. Cascade knowledge within the team and support effective information transfer with Production Engineers.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
* Completed an Engineering Apprenticeship or obtained an NVQ in an Engineering Discipline. BTEC or C&G accredited (or similar).
* Experience working in an FMCG environment.
* Proven history of working on similar machinery and under pressure to meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
