Job Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Nurse to join our team in the Critical Care Unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing, with experience in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
This is an 11-month fixed-term position at UPMC Whitfield Hospital in Waterford. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering professional nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients, working in a highly complex and technical area.
The job holder will be expected to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient flow and management of cardiac admissions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recognize life-threatening and non-life-threatening arrhythmias within CCU and through telemetry monitoring.
2. Demonstrate expertise in the nursing assessment and management of emergency cardiac admissions and acutely ill cardiac patients.
3. Provide safe and welcoming environments for patients and relatives in a highly complex area.
4. Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient flow and management of cardiac admissions.
Requirements
* Registered General Nurse with NMBI registration.
* Minimum 4 years' experience in coronary care settings.
* Competency in ECG interpretation or willingness to undertake study.
