This is a very well-supported team, with a Principal Social Worker on the CDNT to provide professional leadership, consultation and supervision, alongside the support of a long-established multidisciplinary team. This is a permanent, pensionable role with strong supports including regular supervision, protected CPD and clear opportunities for career development. As Team Leader, you will combine high-quality frontline practice with team leadership, contributing to service development, quality improvement and a consistent, family-centred approach across the CDNT. Job Purpose As Social Worker Team Leader, you will provide high-quality social work assessment and intervention to children and young people (0-18 years) with disabilities and their families. You will manage a complex caseload, undertake comprehensive psychosocial assessments, develop and review support plans, and ensure practice is strengths-based, rights-based and family-centred. You will work closely with the CDNT's multidisciplinary team (e.g. Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology and others as available) to deliver coordinated supports and safe, integrated care. You will provide day-to-day guidance to social work staff (and/or students, as required), support consistent recording and governance standards, and contribute to clinical decision-making-backed by the Principal Social Worker for professional supervision, consultation and practice development. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead within a supportive service, strengthen social work practice within a CDNT, and contribute to improving outcomes for children and families. Role summary: Provide social work assessment and intervention to children and families, including complex safeguarding, welfare and psychosocial needs. Provide leadership and support to the social work function on the CDNT, including guidance on best practice, prioritisation, and consistent, high-quality recording. Work under the direction of the Children's Disability Network Manager (CDNM) and in partnership with the Principal Social Worker, contributing to service planning, governance and quality improvement. Act as a key member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver an integrated, coordinated, family-centred service and strong communication across disciplines. Support and empower parents/carers through information, advocacy and signposting, and contribute to group work/parent programmes as appropriate. Prepare high-quality reports and documentation; liaise with Tusla (where relevant), schools and community agencies; and coordinate onward referrals in line with agreed pathways. Represent the service at relevant meetings, case conferences and governance forums, supporting safe decision-making and collaborative risk management.
