Babel Academy of English is recruiting one experienced Summer School Centre Manager to manage our junior summer school programme in Waterford for Summer 2026.Centre location:SETU (South East Technological University), WaterfordProgramme dates: 29/06/2026 – 31/07/2026Role OverviewThe Centre Manager has overall responsibility for the safe, smooth, and high-quality operation of the junior summer school centre, in line with Babel Academy of English policies and procedures. The role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a clear focus on student welfare and programme delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesOverall management of daily centre operationsLine management, supervision, and support of academic, activity, welfare, and administrative staffPlanning and delivery of staff induction and on-site training, ensuring all staff are fully briefed on policies, procedures, safeguarding, and centre operationsEnsuring consistently high standards of student care, safeguarding, and welfare at all timesActing as the main point of contact for students, group leaders, parents, suppliers, and Babel Academy Head OfficeOversight of academic timetables, activities, excursions, and staff rotasManaging student arrivals, departures, and all on-site logisticsParticipation in the centre emergency phone rota, responding to out-of-hours issues and emergencies as requiredEnsuring full compliance with Babel Academy policies, child protection procedures, and health & safety requirementsManaging incidents, issues, and emergencies in a calm and professional mannerCompletion of required reports and administrative dutiesEssential RequirementsPrevious experience in a senior role within a junior summer school, language school, or similar educational settingProven experience working with under-18 studentsStrong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentAvailability for the full summer programme periodSuccessful completion of Garda Vetting prior to commencement of employmentDesirableRelevant degree or qualification (education, management, or related field)Experience working with international studentsChild Protection Training (or willingness to complete)Fire Warden certification (or willingness to complete)First Aid certification (or willingness to complete)Work ConditionsFull-time, on-site role for the duration of the summer programmeWorking hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15–17:15Participation in a centre emergency phone rota, including out-of-hours availability as requiredFlexibility to work extended hours on arrival and departure daysAvailability to respond to incidents or emergencies outside normal working hours when necessarySeasonal, fixed-term contract for the summer programme periodSalary of € per week on a 5-week contract.How to ApplyPlease submit a CV and brief cover letter outlining relevant experience to, clearly stating Waterford Centre Manager.Job Types: Full-time, Fixed termContract length: 5 weeksPay: €850.00-€875.00 per weekBenefits:Sick payWork Location: In person
