Die Technician - County Leitrim.
Our client, a successful manufacturing company in County Leitrim, seeks to hire an experienced Die Technician.
In this role you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing dies used in the manufacturing process.
This role ensures that dies are in optimal working condition to support production efficiency, product quality, and equipment longevity.
Preparing dies for scheduled die changes Maintenance schedule for dies (cleaning, pins & bushings etc.)
Die repairs, welding, chroming and etching of the die surfaces as needed to restore functionality.
Working with external machine shops Upkeep of die database Key duties include: 1.
Comply with all company EHS policies 2.
Die management: Ability to compete die repairs in-house Ability to work with external machine shops to complete major repairs Diagnose die-related issues during production runs.
Collaborate with Shift Managers, Press Operators, Maintenance and Process Engineers to resolve die related problems.
Recommend design improvements to reduce die wear or failure.
Maintain accurate records of die maintenance and repairs.
Log die usage, downtime, and repair history in die maintenance systems.
Communicate status updates to supervisors and production teams.
Carry out checks on proposed new die improvement, conduct online and offline trials.

Customer focus: Communicate with planning, production and quality control on all die related issues.

Refiner plates: Build, clean and prepare refiner plates for change-out Monitor refiner plate condition and complete parallel checks 5.
Analyse samples, customer complaints, competitor and potential supplier samples, maintain records of testing relating to trials & customers.

Die inspection: Carry out inspections of new dies.
Update and develop die procedure as required.

Die profile improvements: Work with Technical team on profile improvement for current or new die requirements Work with designated machine shops on die pairs and upgrades.

Die development: Support and assist in the development of new dies and dies design for new products Interested applicants should have: Level 6 in toolmaking, tool design, tooling, tool setting or a related technical area.
Proficiency in TIG welding, etching and spot chroming High level of patience and attention to detail required for complex die repairs.
An advantage (not essential) to hold a Kaizen facilitator certification.
Circa 3 to 5 years or more experience, with demonstrable skills Thorough knowledge of machine and toolmaking process Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Manual dexterity and visual awareness for precision work.
Ability to work as part of a team-based environment or work alone as required without supervision.
This a Monday to Friday days role.
