Occupational Therapist - Older Persons
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of older adults across medical, surgical, and dementia-related conditions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Completing comprehensive assessments, including functional, seating, cognitive, and mobility evaluations
• Creating tailored intervention and discharge plans to promote independence and safety at home or in community care
• Collaborating with nursing, medical, and allied health colleagues to ensure a coordinated, patient-centred approach
• Supporting clinical governance, service planning, and supervising junior OT staff and students
• Working closely with families and carers to support transitions in care and educate on long-term management strategies
To be successful in this role, you will require:
• A CORU-registered Occupational Therapist qualification
• Minimum 3+ years post-qualification experience, ideally including work with older people, stroke, dementia, or post-acute rehabilitation
• Confidence in handling complex discharges, cognitive assessments, and assistive technologies
• Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills, with a collaborative, MDT-driven approach
• Previous leadership or mentoring experience is a plus
