Duties and Responsibilities
To work closely with the Manager to ensure that good quality Early Years Care and School Age Care is delivered throughout the Creche.
To assist in the planning and implementation of an age-appropriate and stimulating programme of activities which will enhance the child's natural growth and development and ensuring the Siolta and Aistear programmes are implemented.
· To maintain observations and records of individual children's progress, and link these to the childcare care programmes
· To ensure staff are aware of current thinking and practice in early childhood education, and service delivery i.e. emergent curriculum, outdoor areas extension of classroom.
To act as the designated person in charge in the absence of the Manager.
-To assist the manager with administrative duties
To act as a positive role model to staff and to provide leadership and direction, particularly in the absence of the Manager.
To be knowledgeable of all creche policies and procedures and follow them accordingly.
To be knowledgeable of Health and Safety policies and procedures and follow them accordingly.
Person Specifications·
-Minimum Level 7 on the National Qualifications Framework or equivalent in Childcare.
-2 year's work experience in a similar role desirable.
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Kindness, warmth and responsiveness to the needs of children
· Good Communication and Relating Skills with children, staff and parents
· Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
· Current First Aid Certificate desirable
· LINC certificate desirable
· Complete Garda Vetting
