About the Role
Noreside Engineering is seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who wants to gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers to design conveyor systems and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks, contributing to real projects from concept through production.
What You'll Do
Assist in the design and development of
conveyors and mechanical systems
using SolidWorks.
Produce detailed 3D models, drawings, and bills of materials.
Support senior engineers with design reviews, calculations, and documentation.
Liaise with the
production team and project managers
to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
Participate in prototype builds, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Learn to manage small design tasks or sub-assemblies under supervision.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Working knowledge of
SolidWorks
(or similar 3D CAD software).
Understanding of basic mechanical principles and manufacturing processes.
Eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
Experience with conveyor or automation systems.
0–2 years' experience in mechanical design or manufacturing environment (internships and college projects count).
Familiarity with design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA).
Exposure to SolidWorks PDM or similar data management systems.
