Overview

Responsibilities
Provide companionship and light assistance with meals and exercise to older clients.
Assist clients with dementia care, end‑of‑life care and other specialised needs.
Perform hourly visits as scheduled, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Maintain accurate records of care provided.
Communicate effectively with clients, family members and the office team.
Qualifications
Genuine desire to support elderly people in their homes.
At least 6–12 months experience as a carer.
Affinity for vulnerable elderly people.
Professional and mature manner.
QQI Level 5 Healthcare modules x 2, or equivalent, or willingness to obtain same.
Related healthcare speciality (e.g. Student Nurses, OT's, Physios) is a plus.
Valid driving licence with own car or bike, or travel savvy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Benefits
Flexibility: full‑time or part‑time hours; regular clients with no changes without notice.
Pay rates: €14.50/€15 to €17/€18 per hour, with increases after 1 year and 3 years, higher rates after 6 pm and on weekends (€16‑€18).
Bank holiday pay; €11 for half‑hour visits.
Paid travel allowance and mileage.
Paid QQI Training modules 1 & 2; comprehensive induction training.
Carer mentoring, shadowing and training.
