Senior Staff System Architect – Power ManagementLocationIrelandCork or LimerickOverviewAn established global semiconductor company is seeking a Senior Staff System Architect to define and drive the architecture of next-generation digitally controlled power management ICs.This is a senior, high-visibility role focused on system-level decision making, bridging product requirements, modelling, and IC implementation. You will act as the technical authority guiding designs from concept through to working silicon.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine system architectures for advanced digital power management solutionsTranslate market and product requirements into clear architectural specificationsSelect and specify core system and circuit building blocksDevelop and maintain system-level models to predict and validate silicon performanceSupport delivery from early modelling through to first silicon and productionCorrelate models with real silicon data to support design and verification teamsWork closely with analog, digital, applications, and product teams across locationsDocument architectures, trade-offs, and results clearly and maintain them over timeSupport applications engineering with debug, simulation, and customer issue resolutionLead and mentor engineers, contributing to technical direction and executionRequired BackgroundDegree, MSc, or PhD in Electronic Engineering or similar10+ years of relevant industry experienceProven experience in system architecture for power or mixed-signal ICsStrong background in digitally controlled power managementDeep understanding of power conversion topologies - Buck, Boost, Buck-boost, PMIC - Voltage regulatorsExpertise in control theory and digital signal processingStrong modelling skills using Matlab, Simplis, or similar toolsGood understanding of IC design constraints and feasibilityExperience leading or mentoring engineersComfortable working cross-functionally and across time zonesNice to HavePatent history and or published technical papersPrior customer-facing or applications support exposureExperience influencing product roadmaps or long-term architecture strategyWhy This Role• Senior technical ownership with real influence• Work on products used across automotive, industrial, computing, and consumer markets• Strong collaboration between architecture, design, and product teams• Long-term stability within a well-established semiconductor organisation• Opportunity to shape future generations of power management technologyIf you are suited and interested - please share with me your updated resume - kelon@microtech-global.com
