You'll have the autonomy to shape the future of the branch while being fully supported by central specialist teams across Purchasing, Stock Management, HR, IT, Finance, and Facilities.If you're commercially driven, people-focused, and ready to put your stamp on a branch with real potential, this role offers both challenge and reward.Key ResponsibilitiesAs Branch Manager, you will:Drive sales growth and commercial performance, identifying new business opportunitiesTake full responsibility for day-to-day branch operationsLead, coach, and develop a high-performing branch teamMaintain exceptional customer service standardsSupport the team hands-on when required, including on the trade counterBuild and strengthen relationships with key customers and suppliersManage stock control, including stocktakes and cycle countsMonitor and control branch costs, identifying efficiencies where possibleEnsure excellent branch presentation, merchandising, and housekeepingChampion health & safety, ensuring full compliance at all timesWork closely with Credit Control to manage customer accounts and debtor daysSupport local marketing initiatives to raise the branch profileEnsure branch administration is compliant with company policiesEngage with wider branch network meetings to share best practiceBuild strong links within the local communityAbout YouThe ideal candidate will bring:Proven experience in a commercial and/or operational role within builders' merchants or a similar sectorA strong commercial mindset with a track record of driving resultsExcellent leadership and people management skillsConfidence in running a branch with a high degree of autonomyA proactive, solution-focused approachGood IT and systems literacy
