This is a specialist role that will encompass a major clinical focus, including assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care given to Service Owners and their families. This position provides direct nursing care and support to Adult Day Services in the region in the areas of complex care and behaviours of concern.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to nursing staff across the region and at satellite sites as assigned, supporting up-to-date clinical practice, and developing and delivering bespoke and clinical training programmes as identified with service managers. The post holder will also develop and assure the competence of healthcare professionals and support staff.
Requirements
* A recognised validated University Degree or an equivalent qualification in General/RNID/Paediatric Nursing/Clinical Nurse Specialist
* Registration with An Bord Altranais (NMBI)
* Post graduate (level 9) nursing qualification
* Qualification in the area of Behaviour Support
* At least 5 years post-qualification experience working frontline with individuals with disabilities and medical needs
* Experience of facilitating training in some of the following areas: Medication Management, PEG feeding, MAPA training, Positive Behaviour Support, Epilepsy training, Train the Trainer Certified or equivalent certified Training qualification
* Broad knowledge of the complexity of working in a large organisation
* Demonstrate continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to their area of work
