Dairymaster are currently recruiting for: Software Development Manager

Job Type: Full Time
Location: Dairymaster Global Headquarters, Causeway, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland.


Role

* The Software Development Manager plays a crucial role in managing the software development department, overseeing the development of software & electronic projects and managing the team responsible for their execution.
* Provide leadership and guidance to the software development team, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the project goals and working efficiently towards them.
* Oversees project planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within budget.
* Allocates resources effectively, including personnel, tools, and budget, to optimize project outcomes.
* Facilitate the professional growth and development of team members through mentoring, training, and career planning, which can improve team morale and retention.
* Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that software products meet high standards of reliability, security, and performance.
* Facilitate communication and coordination among team members, stakeholders, and other departments, ensuring that everyone is informed and working together effectively.
* Identifies and mitigates risks associated with software & electronic development projects, such as technical challenges, changing requirements, or resource constraints.
* Interface with stakeholders, product managers & snr. management to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns, ensuring that the project meets stakeholder expectations.
* Fosters innovation and promotes best practices in software & electronics development, driving continuous improvement and keeping the team updated with industry trends and technologies.
* Contribute to the overall success of software & electronic projects by ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality, meeting both business and technical objectives.


Requirements:

* Software development background required. Ideally with experience of one or more of electronics, embedded, mobile application development, cloud systems (e.g. AWS), Dev Ops, or Software Architecture.
* 5 – 10 years experience leading software development team/s.
* Software development project management experience such as Agile / SCRUM.
* Experience in software development for R&D projects.
* Ability to manage and prioritise development backlog.
* Eagerness to interact with customers and end users of the company’s software products to better understand customer needs.
* Degree in Software Development or Computer Science or related field.
