The successful candidate: You will support high-quality rehabilitation services for residents and patients with a wide range of needs, including those recovering from ABI, stroke, and complex medical events. Role: Responsible for managing own caseload and for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment/ intervention programmes for service users according to service standards Assessments to include but are not limited to seating assessments, complete functional assessments, complete hand assessments, cognitive assessments and recommendations on environmental layout. Collaborate with service users, family, carers and other staff in treatment/intervention planning and in the provision of support and advice. Plan discharge or transition of the service user between services as appropriate. Ensure the quality of documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports and discharge summaries are in accordance with professional standards Be involved in service planning and development by anticipating the changing needs of the service and service users for the inpatient service Demonstrate a commitment to research and evidence-based practice, identifying and contributing to research, clinical evaluation and audit opportunities Arrange and carry out duties in a timely manner within settings appropriate to service users' needs and in line with local policy/guidelines. Attend review meetings, team meetings, case conferences, ward rounds etc. Maintain quality standards of practice and participate in quality assurance and clinical audits as appropriate. Be responsible for adhering to existing standards and protocols and for leading out on the development and maintenance of standards/strategies for quality improvement and outcome measurement Requirements: CORU-registered Occupational Therapist. Minimum 2+ years post-qualification experience, ideally including work with older people, stroke, dementia, or post-acute rehabilitation. Confidence in handling complex discharges, cognitive assessments, and assistive technologies. Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills, with a collaborative, MDT-driven approach. Previous leadership or mentoring experience is a plus. Eligibility criteria: CORU-registered Occupational Therapist. 2 year minimum, post-graduate experience as an Occupational Therapist Excellent communication, problem-solving, and MDT collaboration skills. Full, clean Irish driving licence and access to a car Previous experience in a nursing home, residential, or step-down setting is a distinct advantage.
