Job Brief
The successful applicants will be required to deliver on the vision for the people supported in the service. Compass Corner & Bridge are day services based in the Ballina area which provide day support for individuals between the ages of 18 - 25 with a view to maximising independence skills and equal participation in the life of their community. You will be based in a day support setting and be responsible for delivery of support in line with person centred best practice and New Directions Standards. Successful applicants may be assigned to either service depending on the requirements of each service and persons supported. You will advocate on behalf of the individual with regard to their needs and preferences. You will support the development of person centred plans and empowering people to achieve their goals. You will support individuals to develop skills in daily living and engage with further education, employment, active citizenship and gain valued social roles in their lives. You will be responsible for promoting equality in community participation.

* Advocate for individuals regarding needs and preferences.
* Support development of person centred plans and independent living skills.
* Engage individuals in education, employment, active citizenship and social participation.
* Promote equality in community participation.
Candidate Requirements
* Drive, enthusiasm, and passion for delivering person centred solutions.
* Understanding of neurodivergence and interest in positive opportunities and meaningful change.
* Ability to listen and respectfully advocate for individuals’ rights and goals.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work with individuals, families and community stakeholders.
* Strong belief in people’s rights, inclusion, and equality.
* Flexibility to respond to service demands.
* Open to working in either of two day support settings as needed.
* Working knowledge of New Directions standards and regulations essential.
* Good IT skills preferable.
Other Duties
* Contribute to local service planning and respond to changing service needs.
* Ensure a safe workplace following Dignity at Work Policy and Health & Safety requirements.
* Promote safety in all environments in line with organisational practices.
* Use positive approaches to support people in line with organisational practice.
Qualification Details
An appropriate 3rd level qualification in Social Care, or equivalent (minimum level 7). Please note your qualification must be eligible for CORU registration.
Other Requirements
* Full driver’s license is essential.
* All applicants will be subject to Garda Vetting and reference checks.
* Applicants from outside the EU must provide work authorization for employment in Ireland with the application.
* Overseas Police Clearance may be required if lived outside Ireland or Northern Ireland for more than 6 months since age 18.
Salary Scale
Social Care Worker Pay Scale (Scale Range €34,969 - €52,619 per annum). These are based on full-time hours (39 per week).
