Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides community-based rehabilitation services for people livingwith a brain injury in Ireland.
Our mission is to passionately serve and empower peopleimpacted by brain injury through personalised rehabilitation and relentless advocacy.
Every daywe work with survivors of brain injury in their homes and communities, in our Clubhouses andresidences, helping them to work towards achieving their personal goals and maximising theirindependence.
The role of theCommunity Rehabilitation Assistantis to support and assist people with an acquired brain injury on every aspect of activities of daily living to live valued lives of optimal independence and participation in activities within the community.
With a person-centred approach, our Community Rehabilitation Assistants assist each individual to plan and direct their lives, meetthe needs identified in their individual plan and support outcomes that are meaningful to the person in conjunction with their overall needs, integrating more fully into the community and achieving their potential.
Our Community Rehabilitation Assistants are highly trained specialists and a crucial part of our team.
They work with brain injury survivors on a day-to-day basis, providing the guidance and support they need to achieve their own goals.
They are expert communicators with hands-on experience of the impacts of brain injury for the person and their families.
Role Responsibilities: Form a rapport with persons served and maintain a positive constructive, and professional relationshipUndertake the role of Keyworker as requiredProvide support to achieve the goals set out in Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs)Improve quality of life by developing, encouraging, and supporting the activities of daily living, including personal careEncourage family, personal and neighbourhood relationships and interactionsDevelop strategies to maximise the ability of the person, build coping mechanisms for daily living and promote independenceWorking with persons served to ensure they need as little support as possible in the futurefor more detail and a more comprehensive listof responsibilities, please see link below to job descriptionA relevant Health or Social Care qualification to a minimum of QQI level 5 standardFull driving licence with access to ownvehicleA person centred approach to supporting people with an acquired brain injuryExcellent inter-personal and communication skills.
