Post: Outreach / Home Support Manager
Contract: Specified Purpose, Full-Time (39 hrs per week)

Roster: Mon - Thurs: 09:00 - 17:30 / Fri: 09:00 - 16:30
Role Overview

Lead the strategic direction and day to day operations of the Outreach/Home Support Service, ensuring the delivery of high quality, person centred care that promotes independence and community engagement for individuals.
Drive the development and implementation of outreach strategies to enhance community awareness, foster strong stakeholder relationships, and expand service reach.
Work closely with individuals, their families, referral agencies, and other key partners to ensure services are effectively aligned with identified needs and risks, and that they are delivered in a responsive and proportionate manner.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and supervision to a dedicated outreach team, ensuring consistent delivery of high quality care and support that aligns with best practices, national policies, and Association standards.
Oversee the creation, implementation, and evaluation of service plans, ensuring all reports and documentation are submitted in a timely manner to senior management.
Continuously assess and refine the Outreach Service’s operational practices, ensuring alignment with both regulatory standards and the strategic goals of the Association.
Manage the service’s performance, ensuring continuous improvement through effective case management, monitoring, and evaluation processes.
Ensure adequate resource management and team development, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance within the outreach team.
Coordinate service delivery that may require weekend work (Saturdays) and occasional direct support, ensuring appropriate coverage and quality of care across all service areas.

Essential Criteria

Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU and hold a minimum Level 7 degree in Social Care (Level 8 desirable) OR Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary) OR Be registered as a nurse in the General, Intellectual Disability or Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses kept by Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland).
Hold a formal management qualification in health or social care (minimum Level 6, e.g., Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Leadership or Management); and
At least three years’ management or supervisory experience in the sector, which must include the supervision of staff and volunteers.
Demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Have a suitable standard of professional attainments.
Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office).
Be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems.
An excellent knowledge of statutory regulations, standards, the role of a person in charge and Health Act 2007.
Good understanding of HR processes including grievances, disciplinaries, people management, communication and engagement.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of flexibility.
A proven ability to lead and support teams.
Experience of commitment to promoting community presence and ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
Must have experience of using alternative communication methods.

Other

Hold a full driver’s licence, have proven driving experience and be willing to drive Association vehicles. When using own vehicle for work purposes, the successful applicant must have access to a roadworthy vehicle with valid business insurance, or be able to obtain insurance for business use.
Applicants must have the necessary authorisation to work in Ireland and will be asked to provide supporting documentation during the recruitment process.

Highly Desirable Requirements

Post-Graduate Diploma or Masters Degree in a relevant discipline.
Previous experience and understanding of how to support individuals with very specific and clinical support requirements and a clear understanding of the importance of working in line with written protocols and guidelines is desirable.
