Job Title: Sustainability Professional
Located in Dublin, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team of a leading organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive energy management framework across a diverse estate.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in energy management, ideally within healthcare, property, public sector, or large-scale organisations. A strong understanding of energy systems, renewable technologies, and environmental legislation is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the organisation's energy management strategy across healthcare and support service facilities.
* Monitor and report on energy consumption, identify opportunities for efficiency, and lead behavioural change programmes.
* Establish and support Energy and Green Teams across multiple sites.
* Deliver user education and energy awareness programmes to encourage sustainable energy behaviours.
* Oversee the development and delivery of registers of opportunity for energy and carbon reduction projects.
* Support the planning, design, and delivery of energy-related capital works, both minor and major.
* Provide technical advice on energy performance, energy-efficient design (EED), and decarbonisation strategies.
* Support the organisation's compliance with energy legislation, standards, and sustainability objectives.
* Collaborate on the preparation of environmental management plans and sustainability policies.
* Drive funding applications and ensure projects meet procurement and regulatory standards.
* Provide leadership and management oversight to contractors and internal project staff.
* Participate in the development of local property strategies and align infrastructure improvements with energy efficiency goals.
Requirements:
* Essential Experience: Proven experience in energy management, ideally within healthcare, property, public sector, or large-scale organisations.
* Track record in leading sustainability, decarbonisation, and/or behavioural energy change initiatives.
* Experience with capital works project planning and delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and external contractors.
* Strong understanding of energy systems, renewable technologies, and environmental legislation.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet key performance targets.
* Familiarity with public procurement processes and relevant health & safety standards.
* High level of ICT proficiency and report writing skills.
Qualifications:
* Desirable Qualifications: Degree in Energy Management (level 8 minimum), Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Energy / Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
* Professional membership of a recognised body (e.g. Energy Institute, Engineers Ireland, CIBSE).
* Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
