We are expanding our services in the Leinster region including Dublin, Portarlington, Athy, Portarlaoise, Tallaght, and environs. We are seeking dedicated Social Care Workers who are committed to making a meaningful difference.
Role Overview
As a Social Care Worker with VHO, you will play a key role in supporting service users through daily living, emotional development, education, and community integration. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality care and support in line with organizational policies and national standards.
Build positive, trusting relationships with service users through consistency, empathy, and professional boundaries.
Implement individualized care plans and contribute to ongoing assessments.
Support service users with life skills, education, emotional regulation, and community participation.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, families, and external agencies.
Respond effectively to challenging behaviour using trauma‑informed and restorative approaches.
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and the rights of every individual in your care.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must hold a recognised qualification in Social Care or a related field, also Have a CORU REGISTRATION OR WORKING TOWARDS IT.
BA (Ord) in Social Care Practice (Level 7)
National Diploma in Childcare (HETAC)
National Diploma in Applied Social Care Studies (HETAC)
Diploma in Social Care (HETAC)
BA (Hons) Psychology
Youth & Community Work qualification
Degree in Social Science
Or an equivalent qualification as recognised under Irish national standards
Additional requirements:
Full clean driving licence (desirable)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
Commitment to continuous professional development
Experience in residential care, disability services, youth work, or family support is an advantage
