Operations Coordinator Specialist
The Operations Coordinator Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely collection, transport, and disposal of waste. This involves coordinating routes, schedules, and driver communication to meet customer needs.
* Route Optimization: Utilize route planning software to maximize efficiency and minimize waste collection costs.
* Schedule Management: Create and manage collection schedules for residential and commercial clients, ensuring that all customer service requests are scheduled appropriately.
* Driver Communication: Maintain continuous communication with drivers to ensure timely collections, relay updates, and handle any changes to the schedule.
* Customer Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers who have questions or issues about their waste pickup services, handling service requests, complaints, or missed pickups.
* Fleet Monitoring: Use GPS tracking tools to monitor the real-time location of waste collection vehicles, track driver performance, fuel usage, and adherence to assigned routes.
* Problem-Solving: Address and resolve issues such as vehicle breakdowns, missed pickups, accidents, or traffic delays, quickly reassigning resources or adjusting routes in case of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all waste collection operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, promoting and enforcing safety protocols to ensure that drivers adhere to waste management regulations and environmental safety standards.
* Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of pickups, routes, fuel usage, vehicle maintenance, and driver hours for internal reporting, invoicing, and regulatory compliance purposes.
* Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to schedule vehicle repairs or routine maintenance without affecting service delivery.
* Waste Management: Manage and monitor waste volume and load capacity to ensure that trucks do not exceed weight limits and can complete their routes efficiently.
* Teamwork: Coordinate with the sales and customer service teams to understand client needs and ensure that service agreements are fulfilled, collaborating with the recycling or hazardous waste teams to ensure that the correct waste streams are handled appropriately.
* Technology Adoption: Operate dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and communications tools to streamline the dispatching process, training drivers on using mobile apps or in-cab technology for tracking, navigation, and reporting purposes.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities to ensure seamless waste collection operations.
