Electrical Inspector - Site Compliance Specialist
This is a key role in ensuring electrical installations meet regulatory requirements, are safe and completed to high standards. As an experienced Electrical Inspector (Clerk of Works), you will support project delivery teams across various commercial and industrial schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out regular inspections across multiple construction and M&E project sites
* Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, H&S standards and M&E contract specifications
* Record detailed site observations and submit accurate weekly inspection reports
* Monitor materials, equipment and workmanship throughout the installation process
* Collaborate with project managers, contract administrators and engineering teams to address variations, defects and risks
Essential Criteria:
* Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
* A degree in an M&E, construction or technical discipline plus 2 years' post-qualification experience
* A BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma in a relevant technical field plus 3 years' practical experience
* A minimum of 4 years' direct experience in electrical inspection, installation or site-based M&E work (in the absence of formal qualifications)
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Excellent technical reporting and verbal communication skills
* Strong ability to interpret current electrical regulations and apply sound judgement on site
* Familiarity with BS 7671 (18th Edition) electrical wiring regulations
* Competency with Microsoft Office, digital site reporting tools and mobile inspection apps
