Murlock Construction has an excellent opportunity to join an established Construction and Engineering company as a Welder in a modern and busy workshop.
Duties will include:
Welding on Structural steel, skips and other items
Perform welding repairs on Structural steel, skips and other items
Fabricate custom components, brackets, or parts as needed.
Repair cracked or damaged metal components to restore structural integrity.
Use cutting torches, plasma cutters and grinders to remove damaged sections, and prepare surfaces for welding.
Ensure all cuts and welds are precise and aligned with specifications.
Maintain high standards of workmanship to minimize rework and downtime.
Maintain detailed records of repairs, materials used and time on projects.
Follow all workplace safety regulations, wear appropriate PPE at all times.
Inspect work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure safe work environment and prevent hazards.
Ensure all welding work meets industry standards and regulations.
(Certified EN ISO-**** a distinct advantage)
Skills required:
MIG, TIG and Stick Welding techniques
Heavy equipment operation
Operation of hand tools
Reading and understanding Blueprints/drawings
Measuring/Marking out
Fabrication
Sourcing materials
Ability to lift up to 50lbs, and work in various positions (standing/kneeling/crouching)
Comfortable working in noisy/dusty and sometimes hot/cold environment.
Certificate in welding preferred, experience with aluminium and stainless steel welding
Minimum of 2 years welding experience required.
Forklift ticket an advantage
Good communication skills and teamwork focused.
