The role of the Housekeeper is to work within the Domestic and Laundry departments as and when required while also working within the Christian ethos of Trinity House.
Responsibilities
* To clean and tidy toilets and bathrooms
* To clean and tidy bedrooms and make beds as required
* To clean and tidy corridors and sitting rooms
* To clean and tidy offices, treatment rooms etc
* To follow procedures for the appropriate disposal of waste.
* To use all equipment according to appropriate instructions.
* To maintain dignity, respect and confidentiality as required
* To support care staff in meeting the needs of the residents
* To respect the personal needs and wishes of the residents at all time
* To follow appropriate health and safety procedures
* To maintain written records as required
* To wash, iron, itemise and distribute residents’ clothes.
* To wash and iron all household laundry e.g. sheets, pillowcases, napkins etc
* Minor sewing repairs.
* Ensure that all appliances are kept in good order and free from abuse, in compliance with Health and Safety regulations
* To carry out any other reasonable duty such as Cleaning Duties as required by the management of the Home, which is necessary for the support and well-being of the residents.
Skills and Qualifications
* Understanding of and respect for the needs of older people
* Awareness of health and safety practices within a working and residential environment
* Willingness to work additional hours to meet the requirements of the Home
* Be willing to register with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council and to maintain that registration
