Our client, a well-established and highly respected
Irish main contractor
, is seeking an experienced
Contracts Manager
to join their senior management team.
This is a key leadership role, overseeing multiple projects and playing a central part in safe, high-quality, on-time delivery across a diverse project portfolio.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects, from programme through to handover, ensuring all works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing projects to achieve programme milestones and timely (or phased) handover
Overall responsibility for site safety, working closely with the Safety Manager and ensuring compliance with H&S legislation and internal EHS systems
Preparing, issuing, and monitoring construction programmes and coordinating closely with the Design Team and Project Manager
Representing the company at site and progress meetings, producing professional contractor and progress reports
Monitoring quality and ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and best practice
Staffing projects in collaboration with the Contracts Director
Ensuring accurate and complete site records (diaries, allocation sheets, advice forms, etc.)
Reporting regularly to senior management, including weekly site/project reports
Liaising with Commercial, Purchasing, and Head Office teams to ensure timely flow of information, reports, and support services
The Candidate
You will bring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and commercial awareness to the role.
Requirements:
Degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline
10+ years' experience in senior construction management
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Contracts Manager with a main contractor
Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong technical understanding of drawings, specifications, and construction methods
Excellent communication, negotiation, and people management skills
Highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused with strong commercial acumen
