With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact.Our Environmental Planning team is looking for a Principal/Associate Technical Director with a strong track record in leading environmental and consenting aspects of projects, especially in Ireland.Your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise, in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.We aim to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our future generations. We face challenges like climate change, urbanization, and biodiversity loss, with increasing frequency of large-scale events such as floods and wildfires.You will work on diverse projects including energy, infrastructure, rail, highways, water, mixed-use developments, and more, across Ireland, the UK, and worldwide.You will need a confident, collaborative approach, working with technical specialists and clients, and developing new business opportunities.You will be responsible for:Leading planning/environmental work with multi-disciplinary teams, influencing project development, and understanding Irish planning and legal systems.Business development, creating project opportunities, and working with sub-consultants.Building awareness of our services, winning new opportunities, and expanding contacts.Engaging with stakeholders and consultees.Managing projects, overseeing technical, quality, commercial, and safety performance.Collaborating with colleagues across Arcadis globally.Qualifications & Experience:Strong knowledge of Irish environmental and consenting processes, including EIA practices and case law, and environmental principles.Experience across various project types.Excellent report writing, presentation, and review skills.Leadership in multidisciplinary project coordination.Experience negotiating with authorities and stakeholders.Commercial skills, including forecasting and project management.Relevant degree, preferably with chartered status or working towards it.Flexible, pragmatic, and collaborative work approach.
