Principal Engineer, Functional Safety

Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and deliver a consistent and scalable functional safety strategy across IC, software, and module levels.
Employ systems thinking and collaborate with the lead Systems Architect and other domain experts.
Work closely with cross-functional teams and present functional safety concepts to customers and stakeholders.
Support related safety areas, including intrinsic safety, electrical safety, and cyber security.
Participate in industry standards groups and pursue further education as encouraged.
Qualifications
Minimum BS/BEng in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering; MSEE or MSCE preferred.
Experience architecting and defining functionally safe systems based on IEC ***** or ISO ***** at the system or IC level.
Experience developing and maintaining functional safety work products (e.g., safety concepts, FMEDA, safety manuals, software test libraries), preferably in a lead role.
Strong problem-solving skills and clear technical communication in English.
Knowledge of industrial cyber security and IEC ***** standards.
Interest and ability to read IEC and ISO standards, academic and industry papers, and books.
Experience in integrated circuit design and application.
Systems engineering experience for complex automotive and industrial applications.
Travel required: typically 15 %.
