Health & Safety Officer – Dublin / Eastern RegionDo you want to join a progressive company where safety is always top of the agenda?Protential Resources are working on behalf of one of our clients to recruit a Health & Safety Officer to strengthen the Dublin / Eastern Region Safety Team.This role will suit a strong, degree-qualified safety professional experienced in the construction industry.Working alongside a Health & Safety Manager, Contracts Manager and Director of Construction, you will ideally be a competent Health & Safety Officer seeking to develop your career in the industry and to specialise further in Health & Safety in Construction with a level of site exposure already gained.Project Types:Public & Private Sector – Traditional, Design & Build, Commercial, Industrial, Educational, Leisure, Heritage, Residential.This role will come under the supervision of the SHEQ Manager, who will visit sites regularly to provide guidance to the successful candidate. Site Safety Officers are also backed up by independent safety consultants who carry out site inspections on a monthly basis.Responsibilities and Key Activities Include:Ensuring safety is a priorityMaintaining a healthy safety record and ensuring the company ethos of safety is positively filtered down to all on siteMonitoring, evaluating, and acting upon any Health and Safety conditions injurious to Health and Safety in your area, promoting improvement and prevention by advice, education and enforcement of appropriate legislationAdvising and assisting the SHEQ Manager in the assessment of staff safety development and training needsAssisting in company health and safety audits and attending meetings when requiredPreparation of method statements, risk assessments, and updates to the safety statementMonitoring and contributing to company policiesDesired Skills and Experience:Professional H&S Degree Qualification5 years' experience on construction sitesProven track record within industry on accident-free sitesExperience with ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and Safe-T Cert is an advantageKnowledge and experience in H&S Legislation and H&S Procedures, particularly the maintenance of company policies and procedures with a view to continually monitoring legislative updates and best practice guidelinesPrevious experience with the drafting of tender documentation and pre-qualifications is a distinct advantageTeam player with a positive attitude and highly developed interpersonal communication skills and cultural sensitivityStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence personnel at all levels within an organisationExcellent organisational skills are essentialExcellent demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in common word processing, spreadsheet, database, project and presentation software, and email/contact managementA full driver's licence is required for this roleValid SafePass and Manual Handling certificationIf this roles sounds like the one for you.
