Summary:Our client, a biopharmaceutical company based in Cork, is seeking aSenior Buyerto support the procurement and planning of raw materials used in both commercial and clinical manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely material availability, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and supporting efficient end-to-end purchasing operations.Responsibilities:Develop and improve systems and processes for the full purchasing cycleCollaborate with procurement teams and manage supplier performance and relationshipsBuild effective partnerships with key suppliers to optimise forecasting, purchase orders and invoicing processes, supporting strong internal and external customer serviceOversee Purchase Order management, including creation, submission to suppliers, status updates, enquiries and closure assessmentsConduct materials planning and forecasting using ERP MRP, Min Max systems and other electronic tools to determine order requirements based on consumption and schedulingManage procurement activities and Material Requirements Planning to ensure timely and cost-effective material acquisitionMaintain and update item data within SAP systemsGenerate supplier performance scorecards and meet with supplier account managers to communicate production demands and forecastsMonitor supplier performance and report findings to managementManage administrative duties, including processing returns to the vendor and resolving PO or invoice-related issuesQualifications & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain or materials planning within a manufacturing or regulated environmentStrong understanding of MRP, materials planning and forecasting processesExperience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP, including item master and PO managementProven ability to manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performanceExperience with Min Max planning tools, vendor scorecards and procurement workflows is an advantage
