Job Summary
Red Hat is leading the revolution of Software Defined Vehicle. In this role, you'll coordinate work with engineers, architects, documentarians, product managers, scrum masters, and community members to help Automotive partners create their next-generation platform based on Red Hat's in-vehicle-OS. You will contribute to integrating Linux into cars and act as an expert across multiple projects in Red Hat’s in-vehicle OS.
Primary Job Responsibilities
* Lead engagement with product stakeholders, automotive customers, and partners to understand use cases and collaborate on building automotive platform solutions.
* Scope and decompose complex engineering tasks; design and implement solutions through cross-team collaboration.
* Promote industry best practices and guide team habits to enhance product delivery and customer value, including working with documentation teams for customer experience.
* Collaborate with upstream communities and drive cross-functional projects to improve technical and non-technical aspects.
* Present and communicate product updates to internal and external audiences.
* Ensure test plans and documentation are in place for created code.
Required Skills
* Programming experience with Python and C
* Experience modifying and rebuilding Linux kernels
* Knowledge of building Linux distributions
* Proficient in English communication (written and verbal)
* Ability to present to business and community audiences
* Experience managing expectations with partners and teams
* Ability to drive projects, milestones, and deadlines
* Teamwork skills
Nice To Have
* Familiarity with Linux containers, Flatpaks, or Kubernetes
* Experience with Red Hat ecosystem
* Knowledge of CI/CD practices
* Open source community involvement
* Experience with hardware experimentation (e.g., Raspberry Pi, IoT devices)
The salary range is $148,540 - $245,050, based on qualifications.
