Contract
Permanent (relief posts considered). Part‑time and relief hours available.
Salary schedule: €33,661 – €37,425 pro rata per annum, with increases subject to LSI and WRC agreement.
Annual leave entitlement: 30 days per annum (pro‑rated to part‑time hours).
Overview of the Post
The post holder will perform lifeguarding and associated swimming pool duties within the hydrotherapy pool at Enable Ireland. The purpose‑built, fully accessible facility supports individuals with a wide range of disabilities, featuring hoists, graduated steps, and wheelchair‑friendly changing areas. The pool is used for hydrotherapy sessions led by a multidisciplinary team, as well as for public swims, providing a safe and supportive environment that promotes rehabilitation, wellbeing and inclusion.
Responsibilities
Provide lifeguarding duties and maintain the pool area, ensuring safety during all sessions. Assist in the preparation and supervision of hydrotherapy activities and public swims. Work with the multidisciplinary team to support the rehabilitation and wellbeing of service owners.
Essential Criteria
Qualified Lifeguard with Water Safety Ireland qualification, or an internationally recognised qualification accepted by Water Safety Ireland.
Minimum one year experience working as a qualified Lifeguard.
Qualified first aider.
Knowledge of resuscitation techniques including CPR, and experience of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
Desirable Criteria
Experience teaching people with a disability to swim.
Experience working with children.
Level 1 Swim Teacher qualification.
