Job Overview:

The Production Shift Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of a highly automated 24/7 milk processing site. They will take ownership and accountability on shift for individual departments' performance against agreed targets and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring continuous improvement across all key operational metrics.

Achieved through highly trained people and efficient processes, with effective engagement and development of shift operators in a lean manufacturing environment.

Main Responsibilities:

* Ensure the manufacture of products to the highest standards in the safest, most cost-effective, and efficient manner.
* Fully utilize and harness the Production and Maintenance Teams' capability through effective leadership, processes that are consistently applied and accurately measured against business objectives.
* Day-to-day management of production operatives on the shift rotation, identifying and implementing process improvements in conjunction with key stakeholders.
* Ensure strict adherence to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Maintain and drive quality standards in process, people, and product.
* Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement, reporting and communicating effectively with the senior management team on an ongoing basis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Experience in a production role in a food processing environment, including previous experience as a team leader/shift manager or equivalent with proven leadership skills.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
* Possesses excellent IT and report writing skills, high standards of systems compliance.
* Strong ability to work in a team, while being able to lead, work on own initiatives, and delegate to other functions.
* Clear communication to all levels, including to Leadership team.
* High motivation, flexibility, and the ability to work on own initiative.
