An exciting opportunity has arisen in Citywest, Dublin, Ireland, for a Trader. The role of the Trader is to meet the profit objectives set by the company for the specific product or products as assigned by the Managing Director.
Your Responsibilities
Collate and analyse fundamental market information and provide regular updates to the Trading Team.
On a weekly basis, provide an update to the local Trade team and to the Global Trade desk detailing business concluded, price levels achieved and other info relevant to the weeks business.
Set daily prices for relevant feedstuffs and communicate to other Traders.
Liaise closely with Logistics team to make cost-efficient trading and execution decisions.
Build and maintain relationships with key strategic trading partners.
Manage trading parameters (basis, flat, futures positions) and risk position limits as set by management.
Develop a thorough understanding of feedstuff trading, including freight/logistics and forex. Be fully conversant in all feedstuffs traded so as to provide cover for other traders if and when required.
Provide estimates of monthly P&L on a regular basis.
Foster relationships with key customers / understand their requirements / identify new opportunities.
Coordinate across multiple departments and businesses within ADM in order to facilitate profitable trading and execution e.g. Shipping / Warehousing / Stevedoring / Sustainability.
To be a strong team player and help guide other team members/trainees as time allows.
To operate and conduct our business in an environmentally sensitive and sustainable way.
To undertake daily tasks in line with the requirements of the Company’s Environmental Management System.
Your Profile
A degree in Agriculture, Business, Economics, Mathematics or similar discipline would be beneficial.
High level of numeracy and results-oriented.
Assertive with strong self-motivation and has the ability to set challenging goals.
The ability to negotiate in challenging circumstances and make fast and accurate decisions.
Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
Commercially focused.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office/Excel.
Ability to demonstrate technical proficiency, strategic planning, and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement to drive success.
Strong communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills while effectively influencing and collaborating with others.
Showcase adaptability, reliability, sound judgment, and confident decision-making to lead and manage risks effectively.
