At our company, we are shaping the future of the power system to meet climate change and net-zero ambitions. As a key player in Ireland's electricity grid, we operate with world-leading levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation, ensuring everyone has power when they need it.
But that's not all; we are now transforming the power system for future generations. Our purpose is to enable our society to reduce carbon emissions and meet climate change targets. We are seeking innovative, solution-focused individuals with a PhD and an engineering/energy background to join the Chief Digital and Information Office (CDIO).
The CDIO envisions and plans the power system and market of the future, innovating how we operate and develop the grid to meet climate change targets and decarbonise the electricity system. Creating a culture of continuous improvement that drives technical and process innovation is central to these roles.
We have multiple opportunities across CDIO where individuals can apply their academic knowledge and significantly contribute to how we operate the future power system and market.
We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have a PhD and experience in any of the following areas:
* Power system modelling and analysis using software such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, and Plexos
* Design and development of operational systems, tools, system services, standards, and policies
* Energy economics and policy
* Market design
* Development and integration of new technologies and innovations (e.g., Hybrid technologies, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Low Carbon Inertia Services)
