Your new company

Your new company is involved in the construction and maintenance of roads across Ireland. They are now seeking to recruit a Quality/Environment and Performance Manager. The role is based in Ennis.The Quality/Environmental Manager will be responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of our existing Quality and Environmental systems. This currently includes ISO 9001 Quality, 14001 Environmental,45001 Safety, 50001 Energy Management and our current target to achieve 55001 Asset Management. The Quality/Environment and Performance Manager is responsible for monthly reporting and the preparation of project quality packs, as builts, the management and recording of all testing and inspection requirements. Project quality packs are required for pavement schemes, gantry installation projects, ducting projects, works on structures and many more. The environmental requirement has become a key driver in our organisation, with multiple sustainability initiatives being implemented from transport decarbonisation, depot solar panel and LED projects, and biodiversity trials. A Sustainability Champion will assist you on these elements. Your role will include the following
• Manage and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Work closely with the Safety Manager and all other departments to ensure that all processes are working and recording in accordance with our IMS.
• Manage the maintenance of current and future ISO standards.
• Work to broaden our systems. For example, to achieve 55001 Asset Management, and separate Carbon Ladder Certification.
• Work with the wider Management team to ensure that all Quality, Environmental and Energy Management requirements are incorporated into the decision-making processes.
• Working with the wider Management team, preparing and submitting Monthly Reports to the Client.
• Control all data-gathering processes to facilitate the preparation of the Monthly Report.
• Prepare and submit Yearly Reports.
• Control the preparation and storage of all data, correspondence, and documentation.
• Initiate the preparation of safety, quality and design documentation for all activities and ensure it is submitted to clients under the certification process.
• Carry out reviews of Plans, Procedures, RAMs etc when required.
• Ensure management reviews are carried out at regular intervals and that objectives, targets, and risks are measured and updated each year.
• Work with the Operations Manager to develop measuring tools for the performance of projects, processes etc.
• Prepare quality submissions for the client in advance of construction or renewal projects.
• Develop testing protocols with subcontractors
• Control, monitor, testing and inspection of works.
• Manage the production of all testing and inspection data for supplying to clients and for as-built documentation.
• Ensure all operations are carried out in line with our own and legislative environmental requirements.
• Maintain and adapt our energy and carbon use recording processes.
• Produce the year-end Energy Management Report.
• Manage the maintenance of all waste records.
• Set up sub-waste management plans for larger projects.
• Work with our Sustainability Champion to develop and instigate various projects to further our carbon and biodiversity goals. Qualifications
• A level eight qualification recognised by the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETEC) in Civil Engineering, or other equivalent professional qualification
• Membership of recognised industry body (Engineers Ireland, Institute of Asphalt Technology, Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation etc) Experience
• Experience in road network maintenance contracts or projects with similar services and activities- to this specific contract.
• Manager's experience in Quality Systems.
• Experience in Data Management and Controls.
• Experience of Environmental Controls and systems. Knowledge
• Demonstrable knowledge of the TII road standards and specifications
• High level of computer literacy (MS Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint)
• Industry recognised safety-training standard for level of post (PSCS and PSDP Knowledge/Training)
