Our client is a building contractor based in the west of Ireland. They are involved in various building projects across Connacht / Ireland. They are now seeking to recruit a Senior Contracts Manager. They specialise in residential, commercial, educational and fit-out projects.This role would suit an experienced Contracts Manager who has managed large projects valued €20M - €100M from start to finish. You will have full responsibility for ensuring that sound project management practices are implemented for the successful completion of complex projects. 1. Taking projects from the pre-construction stage, developing required construction stage plans and implementing these on site.
2. Providing visible leadership and leading by example.
3. Chair progress meetings and follow through with planned actions.
4. Liaise with the Design Team, Project Team & Subcontractors
5. Develop project plans and schedules and execute plans to achieve agreed outcomes
6. Comply with the Health & Safety aspects of the project in line with company policies and procedures.
7. Co-ordinate project activities in accordance with the company's Quality System, Standard Quality Procedures and Engineering Specifications.
8. Manage the complete day-to-day life cycle of projects from initial stages through to hand-over.
9. Meet agreed objectives in the areas of timely delivery, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
10. Work to resolve critical site issues
11. To be responsible for the successful delivery of projects through leadership, management, technical & engineering expertise throughout the project life cycle.
12. Manage projects in line with the agreed production targets and workflow of subcontractors, ensuring they are in line with the program of works on site.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
13. 5+ years' experience in a Contracts Manager role in construction.
14. Ideally experienced in public contract construction as well as private.
15. Ideally will have some experience of managing the construction of residential developments.
16. Candidates must be capable of taking responsibility for a number of projects concurrently, as required.
17. Third level qualification in construction management/Civil Engineering.
18. Excellent delegation & organisational skills.
19. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
20. Good knowledge of quality and safety management systems.
21. Good IT skills with the ability to generate detailed site reports.
22. The ability to drive projects and work within strict deadlines.
23. Excellent understanding of Health & Safety requirements within Irish construction sites.
24. Full Irish driving licence.
