JOB DESCRIPTION
POST: LIFEGUARD/RECREATION ASSISTANT
ACCOUNTABLE TO: General Manager / Assistant Duty Manager / Duty Manager
PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist the Management Team in the safe operation of the centre. To ensure that customers are dealt with in a courteous and efficient manner.

Duties & responsibilities:
1. To establish and maintain a good relationship with customers, ensuring that usage and behaviour is not detrimental to the enjoyment of others.
2. To assist in maintaining the safety and welfare of all customers, ensuring that rules and regulations for the use of all areas are observed.
3. To provide a lifeguard service in each and any of the centre's pools.
4. To assist in the setting up and dismantling of equipment for different activities and events.
5. To be responsible for the safe handling, transportation, storage and maintenance of centre equipment.
6. To assist in ensuring that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the centre by undertaking cleaning duties as required.
7. To draw attention to any unsafe practices which may be observed.
8. To ensure that all areas are made secure when not in use.
9. To be aware of all emergency procedures and assist in controlling emergency situations.
10. To assist with minor repairs and maintenance.
11. To attend training sessions arranged by the company. (Failure to maintain minimum standards in safety training may result in the employee being denied the right to work as a Lifeguard until the necessary standard is achieved.)
12. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
13. To be familiar with the company's Health and Safety Policy and observe any part of the policy related specifically to the post.
14. To behave in a non discriminatory manner towards customers and other staff, as required by Equal Opportunities legislation and company policy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €12.70-€13.50 per hour
