About the Position Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Specialist Services will be a member of the Senior Management Team and will contribute both strategically and operationally to the overall success of the organisation.
The role encompasses management and oversight of Chimes intensive and clinical specialist services, currently comprising six services with approximately 40 staff and five direct reports.
Working closely with the CEO, the Director will ensure that organisational structures and accountabilities align with strategic and operational priorities.
The successful candidate will act as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Senior Management Team and Board, and will represent the organisation in relevant public forums.
Key Responsibilities: Service Delivery Oversee the day-to-day operations of specialist service provision.
Ensure a strong client-centred culture that supports effective referral pathways, high-quality care planning and best practice case management.
Develop and implement annual operational service plans aligned with strategic priorities.
Monitor and review clinical record keeping and data systems, ensuring strong outcomes measurement and accurate documentation.
Prepare business cases for service development and growth opportunities.
Ensure effective risk management processes are embedded across services.
Evaluate service effectiveness through data analysis, audits, feedback and trend monitoring.
Represent Chime externally and advocate on behalf of the organisation.
Staff Support and Management Provide consistent, high-quality leadership and supervision to service managers and teams.
Oversee recruitment, performance management and staff development in collaboration with HR.
Promote continuous professional development and innovation across teams.
Foster a culture that supports adaptability, accountability and excellence in service delivery.
Service Governance Ensure Residential Services operate in accordance with HIQA regulations and national standards, including assuming the role of PPIM.
Ensure Day Services comply with relevant national standards.
Ensure services operate within budget and in line with agreed Service Level Agreements with the HSE and other funders.
Develop and maintain robust policies and procedures supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key requirements: Essential Requirements: Relevant university degree.
35 years senior management experience in a comparable role.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and governance standards.
Strong analytical, decision-making and stakeholder engagement skills.
Capacity to manage multiple service streams and operate effectively under pressure.
Desirable Requirements: Experience managing clinical and residential services.
Experience operating within state-funded service frameworks.
