Your new employer is a rapidly growing engineering consultancy that has doubled its headcount in the past 4 years and plans to increase headcount by a further 50% over the next 3-5 years. Their annual turnover is in the region of €50 million, reflecting a strong and expanding client base. They are looking for senior design engineering professionals on the mechanical and electrical side to work on data centre/industrial projects.
About Your New Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role within a multi‑disciplinary team delivering detailed electrical designs from concept to completion. You’ll work on landmark projects in Ireland and internationally, collaborating closely with mechanical, sustainability, and BIM specialists to achieve best‑in‑class design outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop electrical building services design from concept through detailed design and construction stages.
* Produce design drawings, schematics, calculations, and technical specifications.
* Coordinate with mechanical and other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
* Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to manage project progress and technical issues.
* Contribute to energy efficiency and sustainability solutions within project designs.
* Ensure compliance with Irish and international electrical standards and regulations.
What You Need to Succeed
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (Level 8 or above).
* 3+ years’ experience in electrical design within a building services or consultancy environment.
* Experience using software such as Amtech, Dialux, Revit, and AutoCAD.
* Strong understanding of LV/MV systems, lighting design, and power distribution.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills.
