Job Title

Children's Support Worker

The Children's Support Worker will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver a quality service to children and their families who are attending the service.
The support worker will report to the Disability Manager.

* Assist with review of clinical reports from private providers, documenting the outcomes and recommendations in a standardised template under the supervision of the Disability Manager.
* Assist with transfer / referral to other services where appropriate under the supervision of the Disability Manager and clinical team.
* Assist with the discharge of clients from the Network under the supervision of the Disability Manager and clinical team.
* Assist with file reviews and preparation of clinical note summaries under the supervision of the Disability Manager and clinical team.
* Assist in the administration and day to day operation of the service as needs arise.
* Research and prepare resources for universal family support and strategies.
* Participate in team meetings and report to the Disability Manager on matters affecting the delivery of service.
* Maintain a high standard of documentation, including service user files in accordance with local guidelines, the principles of confidentiality, the Freedom of Information (FOI) and GDPR Acts.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of information sharing protocols and audit systems.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the service in keeping with good practice and objectives.
* Maintain professional standards in relation to consent, confidentiality, ethics and legislation.
* Observe all rules relating to Health and Safety and Conduct at Work and use any equipment provided in a safe and responsible manner.


Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

* QQI Level 5 Award in Health Care Support / Social Care / Special Needs Assisting (or equivalent).
* Experience supporting children or individuals with disabilities.
* Understanding of person-centred care and rights-based approaches.
