We are working with a large, well-established food manufacturing business to recruit a Maintenance & Engineering Manager for their site in Co.
Kildare.
This is a senior leadership role within a complex production environment, with responsibility for delivering an efficient, high-performing engineering function while driving reliability, cost control, and continuous improvement across the site.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance and engineering team
Deliver site KPIs across planned maintenance, breakdown response, and cost control
Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to improve reliability
Plan, prioritise and schedule all maintenance activities in line with production needs
Manage maintenance budgets and control expenditure in line with targets
Oversee and coordinate third-party contractors and service providers
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and high-performance standards
Support site audits and ensure full compliance with quality and safety standards
Manage engineering stores, spare parts and inventory control
Lead engineering-related CAPEX projects and liaise with group functions
Maintain responsibility for site utilities including electricity, water, air and refrigeration
Criteria
Trade-qualified or degree-qualified in Engineering
5 years' experience in a similar maintenance/engineering leadership role
Background within manufacturing, ideally food or FMCG
Experience managing large engineering teams in fast-paced environments
Strong project management and continuous improvement experience
Proven leadership and people management capability
