Role Overview The role is responsible for leading and executing digital marketing initiatives across email, social media, and audience growth channels to drive engagement, subscriptions, and brand awareness for The Irish Times.
The position blends strategic planning, campaign execution, performance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Campaign Strategy Execution Plan, develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns across email, social, and digital platforms.
Align campaign activity with subscription, engagement, and audience growth targets.
Develop compelling messaging tailored to segmented audiences.
Email Marketing Management Create, build, schedule and deploy all marketing emails across promotional, subscriber and lifecycle campaigns.
Manage content structure, layout optimisation and subject line testing.
Implement A/B testing frameworks to improve open rates and click-through performance.
Monitor and optimise deliverability, engagement and subscriber growth.
Audience Growth and Top of Funnel Development Drive top of funnel growth by growing traffic through content promotion, newsletter conversion/engagement and all relevant tactics to engage readers and potential subscribers.
Performance Analytics Track and analyse campaign performance using social platforms, Google Analytics and email platform reporting tools.
Report on key KPIs including open rate, CTR, conversion rate and engagement metrics.
Provide actionable insights and optimisation recommendations based on data trends.
Paid Organic Social Media Support paid social campaigns including audience targeting, creative testing and performance monitoring.
Analyse channel performance and refine strategy accordingly.
Bring events to life online through development of on-brand social comms to promote, highlight key moments, amplify the brand message, and drive audience engagement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with editorial, design, product and commercial teams to align marketing initiatives with content strategy and revenue goals.
Manage campaign timelines and stakeholder communication to ensure smooth delivery.
Work closely with PR agencies, brand partners and external stakeholders including creative and media agencies to deliver competitions, events and promotional campaigns.
Digital Competitions Promotions Conceptualise, create and manage digital competitions to drive audience growth, engagement and brand partnerships.
Develop promotional plans across email and social channels to maximise participation and visibility.
Oversee entry mechanics, terms conditions, winner selection and post-campaign reporting.
Track competition performance metrics including entries and third party opt ins.
Skills Experience Required: 3+ years' experience in digital marketing, audience growth or a related role.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience with Salesforce Marketing.
This includes building and optimising automated email flows.
Familiarity with managing segmentation through data and reporting dashboards is a plus.
Responsibilities will include evolving our Salesforce usage and use cases using Salesforce tools to deliver timely communications that support brand awareness, engagement and retention.
Proven experience creating and managing end-to-end email marketing campaigns.
Strong understanding of performance marketing metrics and optimisation strategies.
Proficient in Google Analytics, email marketing platforms and social media tools (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat).
Ability to work independently, using initiative and sound judgement to manage projects.
Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced media environment.
