Role Overview
As a Product Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining product assurance activities for space-grade electronic equipment. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to ensure compliance with space industry standards and customer requirements, from design through delivery.
Key responsibilities

Define and implement product assurance plans in line with customer and space industry standards (e.g. ECSS, ISO, or equivalent).
Support design reviews, ensuring quality, reliability, safety and dependability requirements are addressed.
Convene, chair, take minutes and follow up on actions at PA reviews for key project milestones.
Oversee manufacturing and assembly processes, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and workmanship standards.
Manage non-conformances, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
Review and approve documentation, including procedures, inspection plans, test reports and certificates of conformity.
Support supplier quality assurance, including audits, assessments and supplier performance monitoring.
Participate in and support internal and external audits.
Perform hardware inspections and complete quality inspection reports.
Ensure configuration control and traceability of materials, components and processes.
Liaise with customers and external stakeholders on all product assurance matters.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality and assurance processes.

Qualifications & Skills

Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
3+ years’ experience in a Product Assurance, Quality or Reliability role, ideally within the space, aerospace or high-reliability electronics sector.
Strong knowledge of space or aerospace standards (e.g. ECSS, ESA requirements, ISO 9001/AS9100).
Understanding of electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, testing and inspection processes.
Experience with non-conformance management, risk assessment and problem solving methodologies.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and test requirements.
Strong attention to detail with a structured and analytical approach.
Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
