The Children's ED at Cork University Hospital is the largest children's ED outside of Dublin. A beautiful audiovisually separated department was opened in December in 2023, boasting 11 cubicles in total, including 2 procedure rooms, a playground and an excellent team culture. Many opportunities exist to stretch one's potential including working and developing a paediatric service within the urgent Virtual Care Centre, working within an established pre-hospital environment, developing a research mandate for the department or developing a paediatric emergency medicine fellowship with special access to adult Major trauma reception to supplement trauma skill development to name a few. There is scope to leverage any special interests or skills that the successful applicant may already have. PEM Trained physicians from either paediatric or emergency medicine backgrounds are warmly invited to apply.
