Geological Survey Ireland, a division of the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, is Ireland's national Earth Science knowledge centre, working on behalf of the Irish public.
A postion for a senior geologist to manage the ResearchProgramme has opened with a 4-year fixed term contract.
Location
Geological Survey Ireland is based in Booterstown Hall, Booterstown Avenue, Blackrock, County Dublin, A94 N2R6.
Requirements
A qualification at minimum level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or NARIC Ireland Foreign Qualifications equivalent in degree in earth science, environmental science or equivalent; and
A minimum of 5 years relevant post qualification experience working in research management, or related field;
OR
A qualification at minimum level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or NARIC Ireland Foreign Qualifications equivalent in an earth science, or related field; and
A minimum of 10 years relevant post qualification experience working in research management, or related field; AND
Relevant experience in research management and reporting;
Working knowledge of Irish geology and geoscience;
Working knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidelines effecting research in Ireland.
Demonstrate the skills to liaise effectively with geology, environmental, government and third level sector representatives;
Relevant experience in systematic and accurate data handling and analysis;
High level of IT proficiency in Microsoft, or equivalent packages;
Current full Irish driving licence
