Cpl Healthcare is partnering with a highly regarded nursing home group to recruit a Director of Nursing for a well-established care centre in Ferbane, Co.
Offaly.
This 61-bed, purpose-built facility is part of a boutique nursing home group and is set within beautiful woodland gardens in the heart of Ferbane town.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a dedicated team in a supportive and quality-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be supported by both the Clinical Director and the Director of Quality and Safety.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Governance
Provide strong leadership and governance across all aspects of the care centre
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to residents and their families
Maintain full compliance with HIQA regulations and standards
Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
Clinical & Operational Oversight
Oversee care delivery in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
Ensure effective communication with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders
Monitor and support ongoing operations within the care centre
Management
Act as Person-in-Charge in accordance with the Health Act **** and HIQA standards
Lead, manage, and develop the team, supported by the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
Support staff training, development, and performance management
Implement and review policies and procedures in line with current guidelines
Manage risk, health & safety, complaints, and incident reporting
Foster a positive working environment with open communication and strong team engagement
Liaise with external agencies as required
Requirements
Registered General Nurse with NMBI
Minimum of 3 years' experience in care of older persons within the last 6 years
At least 3 years' management experience
Level 8 qualification in Management (or equivalent)
Commitment to continuous professional development
Strong knowledge of ageing, clinical care, and best practices in elder care
In-depth understanding of HIQA standards, the Health Act, and relevant legislation
