The current salary scale for the position ranges from €48,760 (minimum) to €57,790 (maximum), inclusive of LSI’s.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Technician Grade 1 - Departmental Responsibilities
Below are examples of responsibilities within various departments. These are not exhaustive, and duties may overlap or vary.
Housing:
Housing Technicians manage maintenance of Kilkenny County Council’s Social Housing Stock and oversee new housing projects, ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Assist in designing housing units, extensions, and retrofit programs using AutoCAD, REVIT, and other software.
* Conduct housing inspections, record findings, and compile reports for maintenance, private rented standards, or grants.
* Manage projects and contractors.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
Planning:
Assist in daily operations of transportation infrastructure and record-keeping using GIS and AutoCAD.
* Prepare reports, surveys, and data analysis.
* Engage with the public and officials, providing information and handling inquiries.
Environment:
* Monitor effluent licensing and waste management facilities.
* Investigate pollution incidents and report findings.
* Conduct waste sampling and analysis.
* Perform farm inspections under regulations.
* Coordinate with EPA and HSE regarding water and wastewater systems.
Roads:
* Procure and supervise road construction and maintenance projects.
* Design using AutoCAD and survey equipment.
* Utilize AutoCAD and ArcGIS software.
* Support staff in system implementation.
* Manage and supervise staff, and compile service data.
* Write reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Perform other activities as assigned.
