Overview
Operations Shift Manager role at MSD in Dunboyne, Co. Meath. The successful candidate will be accountable for end-to-end production supporting Solution Supply, Batch and Continuous Manufacturing. This requires managing a stable process within a flexible, collaborative, multi-skilled team environment.
Responsibilities

* Recognize when action is required, generate alternatives and options, and determine when to seek support from other stakeholders.
* Drive operational excellence to deliver components of a stable process for PPQ, facility start-up and commercial supply.
* Maintain GMP compliance and team training; collaborate with other teams to ensure cross-functional compliance.
* Oversee development and approval of GMP documentation.
* Follow Safety, Health and Environment guidelines and contribute to company safety and environmental goals.
* Influence and collaborate with colleagues to build trust, encourage two-way communication, and strengthen relationships.
* Lead change management with adaptability and openness to change, exploring benefits and collaborating to implement effectively.
People Management
* Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and identify training and development opportunities for the team.
* Provide the team with tools and development opportunities (including educational assistance, job rotation, cross-functional training, Six Sigma) to enable success.
* Assess workload, identify gaps, reallocate resources, and make hiring decisions to optimize staffing and ensure efficient operations.
* Foster a feedback culture, encouraging open and honest communication.
Your profile
* Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, or Process engineering.
* 6+ years in Biotech industry (bulk manufacturing of pharmaceutical or biological components). Position level will scale with experience.
* Ability to analyse complex situations and exhibit practical problem-solving capabilities.
* Demonstrated ability to make and act on decisions balancing speed, quality, and risk.
* Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.
* Experience in QRM, investigations and problem solving.
* Familiarity with contamination control and batch release requirements.
* Experience in quality management systems and operating systems such as Veeva, SAP.
