*Head office - Tipperary - Hybrid opportunity available* Due to the growth of a new division internally, my client, a specialist within the energy sector, are seeking to appoint an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis. Key Objectives The main purpose of the Electrical Estimator role is to prepare detailed, high-value bids and tenders (ranging from €0.1m to €20m). The Estimator will report directly to the Bid Manager and will collaborate closely with various internal teams to ensure accurate pricing and submission. Key Responsibilities Manage the full project pricing process and tender preparation for turnkey renewable projects, including both new electrical substations and the refurbishment of existing ones. Collaborate with Project Managers (Renewables and Substations) to assess manpower resources required for projects, and work with the Procurement Manager to obtain material pricing. Review and analyse tender documentation, identifying requirements and areas with potential risks through Risk Analysis. Provide detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) with relevant specifications, preliminaries, and drawings. Monitor the RFQ process and track quotation returns. Perform or oversee the RFQ analysis, compare options, and select the best fit for the tender pricing. Arrange and conduct site inspections, documenting findings and incorporating them into the tender pricing. Develop allowances for project preliminaries using standard forms, discuss the construction sequence with the Bid Manager and Project Managers to establish a construction timeline. Prepare tender build-ups, and coordinate meetings for company governance to review and finalize pricing before submission. Make necessary adjustments to the tender following internal discussions and submit the completed tender documentation by the deadline. Conduct a handover to the Project Delivery Team, ensuring all project details and documentation are properly transferred. Attend Pre-Tender Meetings to understand client requirements and ensure feedback is communicated internally. Attend Post-Tender Meetings to present the offer, engage in value engineering discussions, and address client queries. Essential Skills & Qualifications: A commercially-focused, self-motivated individual with the initiative and drive to succeed in the role. A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in an Estimator role, preferably with experience in HV & Renewable electrical projects. Strong proficiency in MS Excel, particularly in pricing projects. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively within a team while also being capable of independent work. A strong grasp of commercial terms and conditions, and experience in negotiating terms to optimize project delivery. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong logical and rational problem-solving skills. Eagerness to develop within the Estimator role and take on additional responsibilities, including supervisory or managerial tasks. Flexibility to attend pre- and post-tender meetings across Ireland. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth within a dynamic team environment.
