The Lead System Analyst is responsible for identifying, defining, and analysing complex systems across the continuum of care. This role focuses on understanding how people, processes, data, and systems work together across patient pathways (from referral through treatment and follow-up) and designing and implementing solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, scalability, and performance. The position requires strong analytical thinking, systems design, and practical delivery capability, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Map and understand end-to-end workflows across the continuum of care (patient presents to post surgery follow-up) and the systems that support them. Design and implement improvements that make pathways more efficient, reliable, and consistent for patients and care teams. Turn clinical and operational needs into clear requirements and functional specs that delivery teams can build. Work with hospital teams and internal partners (operations, logistics, EDT, engineering, product teams) to deliver solutions. Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements, integrations, or redesigns. Ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, and aligned to organisational goals. Document workflows, system designs, and decisions so solutions can be validated, adopted, and maintained. Required Qualifications L8 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Proven experience analysing and improving complex systems or end-to-end processes. Strong understanding of systems thinking, process mapping, and optimisation approaches. Experience translating requirements into system designs, specifications, and deliverable plans. Experience working with cross-functional teams in operational and technical environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to explain complex topics in a clear, practical way. Preferred Qualifications Experience with process mapping, modelling/simulation, or analytics tools. Experience in healthcare, hospital operations, or another regulated environment. Understanding of enterprise systems and integrations (for example Electronic Health Records, scheduling/workflow tools, Enterprise Resource Planning, Warehouse Management Systems). Relevant certifications (for example Lean Six Sigma or Systems Engineering). Experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or inventory management systems. Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Experience with modelling tools, simulation software, or data analytics platforms. Knowledge of automation, integration, or enterprise systems (ERP, WMS, etc.). Relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Systems Engineering). Key Skills & Competencies Strong stakeholder management and credibility with clinical specialists and hospital operations teams. Systems thinking across end-to-end pathways (people, process, technology, data). Structured problem-solving and ability to simplify complex workflows into clear requirements. Clear communication across clinical, operational, and technical audiences. Delivery mindset: prototype ? pilot ? scale, with measurable outcomes. High documentation discipline and attention to detail. Experience capturing workflows through shadowing, workshops, and process mapping and translating findings into requirements and measurable outcomes. Experience partnering with technical delivery teams (engineering, product, user experience, data) to deliver solutions into operational settings. Exposure to pre-operative pathways (referral/triage, pre-assessment, imaging workflows such as CT/MRI/X-ray) and/or post-operative rehabilitation pathways is beneficial but not essential. Systems thinking and analytical mindset. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills (clinical, operational, and technical). Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity and still drive progress. Continuous improvement and practical delivery focus. Strong documentation skills and attention to detail, with a broader strategic view. Working Conditions Office-based or hybrid working environment. Collaboration across multiple departments and stakeholders, including hospital partners. May require time in clinical or operational environments depending on projects (site visits, shadowing, workshops).
